    Cell phone service in Appalachia?

Anybody heard anything about when they are getting it? Only town in Wise County without it now. Also, anybody know what internet service provider options there are up there? Do you have to have comcast to get cable net up there? Is DSL an option?

Ive heard "the 20th of nexth month" for 2 years. Apparantly, some historical society people are against putting a tower in Appalachia.

Cable and DSL (in certain places) are available in Appy though.

Thanks, I'll have to check out the dsl. Hopefully they get cell service soon, I've heard you can buy an antenna booster and get service? Is this true, is it worth it?

Moving there, I'm guessing there is no chance they have public wireless access like Wise does?

    You guessed right.
As for cell service, Elissa never gets service downtown and in the surrounding areas (not even enough for a text) when she's working there.
